Biography
Paradise Oskar is a solo project of the 20-year old singer/songwriter Axel Ehnström from Finland. He was first introduced to wider audiences through the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, where he represented Finland with his song Da da dam. The song is written by Axel and produced by the legendary Leri Leskinen. Da da dam made it all the way to the final in the Eurovision Song Contest, and won the “Press award for best composition”.
In the spring of 2011 Paradise Oskar got signed with Warner Music Finland, and Paradise Oskar’s debut album Sunday Songs was released on the 4th of May 2011. It was very well received by critics. The album contains 9 songs, each written by Axel. The music could be described as folk-inspired pop music. The storytelling folk-elements and structures in the songs give a traditional feel to the music, while the lyrics give a fresh view of what modern pop-lyrics can be. The lyrics are spiced with philosophical thoughts about everyday-life, for instance the autobiographical idea that every day should be like Sunday. Sunday Songs is the result of a lifelong love affair with beautiful melodies and smart lyrics.
The album has been released in Finland, Sweden and Norway, and can be found on itunes worldwide (excl. USA). On the Official Finnish charts it peaked at number four, and in the first week it made it to the top 100 itunes charts in Germany.
